🧠 Finding Genius: Liam Boogar-Azoulay, Chief Revenue Officer at Scaleway
Kindred Ex-Pats, Rude Baguette & Climbing the French Tech Ladder
In the French Tech ecosystem, Liam hardly needs an introduction. But for our non-French audience, I'll share some context :)
Liam arrive in Paris nearly a decade ago with nothing more than a backpack and a longboard. Oh, and an upbringing in the glory days of Silicon Valley (read: Steve Jobs lived down the street). What he lacked in experience, he made up for in grit and his inherent understanding of the tech sector. His journey starts (not unlike mine) by writing a newsletter about the then-nascent French Tech ecosystem.
It earned him some unexpected attention and eventually some jobs in the startup community. Joining in the early days of some of what would become France's household names (Algolia, 360Learning) positioned him for his currently role at Chief Revenue Officer of Scaleway (the Amazon Web Services of Europe). He reports to Xavier Niel, the godfather of French Tech and like his mentor, now spends much of his spare time angel investing (albeit on a smaller scale than his billionaire boss!). Please enjoy this insightful trip down memory lane from a veritable ex-pat success story.
